Thank you for your request to join welearn.school.nz. Please write a sentence or two explaining why you are joining our website and requesting a membership account.  Please note that account creation requests that do not include a brief and valid description will not be approved.

WeLearn.school.nz (this website) is for the exclusive use of children enrolled as online learners with The VLN Primary School (VLNP), their registered schools, whānau and VLNP partners.  We also welcome educators and professionals who have expressed an interest in our work. When you sign up as a member of WeLearn you agree to these terms and conditions governing its use and agree to abide by the following codes of conduct:

  1. You will be using this website for educational purposes only in relation to your enrolment, association with, or special interest in an online learner or the online learning programmes offered by VLNP

  2. You agree that you will not under any circumstances knowingly:

    • decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the WeLearn website, or any component thereof, by any means whatsoever.

    • “Hack” or intentionally degrade the WeLearn website

    • Remove, alter, or obscure any product identification, copyright, or other intellectual property notices in the WeLearn website.

  3. When using the messaging and posting features of welearn.school.nz you agree that you will not knowingly:

    • post or share content that would be considered harmful, offensive, abusive or dangerous as defined under the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015 and that you will rightfully comply with all such online behaviours as governed by the Act

WARNING: A deliberate and known breach of provision 3 above may be considered a criminal offence under the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015. We have a legal duty to report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them if required to do so under the terms of the Act and related legislation.

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of welearn.vln.school.nz (this website). These should be read in conjunction with the Privacy Policy, which together form the full terms and conditions of  use of this website.

Please read these Terms and Conditions in full before registering to join the WeLearn website.  Using the WeLearn website implies that you accept these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Account Establishment Process

    • WeLearn.school.nz is open for membership to school aged children, their teachers and whānau, who are learning online with theVLN Primary School

    • Accounts may be created by logging in and agreeing to these Terms and Conditions

    • We collect minimal, non-identifiable information from children

    • Children are able to link their accounts to parents, teachers and other known children who are also members of welearn.school.nz

  2. Material the User posts on the WeLearn website:

    • With the exception of personally identifiable information, any material the User posts on the welearn.school.nz website shall be considered non-proprietary and not confidential. Unless the User advises to the contrary The VLN Primary School will be free to copy, disclose, distribute, incorporate and otherwise use such material for any and all purposes.

  3. Links to other Websites

    • Any links to third party websites located on this website are provided for the User’s convenience only.

    • The VLN Primary School takes all reasonable steps to ensure any links to third party websites are appropriate. The VLN Primary School is not responsible for the content on any linked third party website. If the User chooses to access a third party website linked from this website is at the User’s own risk. The User is encouraged to notify us at primary@vln.school.nz if there are any inappropriate links or content. 

  4. Viruses, hacking and other offences

    • You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack.

 5. Governing Jurisdiction

  • These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with New Zealand law. Any dispute(s) arising in connection with this Legal Notice are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK.

  • If any provision of the terms and provisions within these Terms and Conditions are determined to be invalid, it shall not affect the validity and enforcement of the remaining terms and provisions within these Terms and Conditions.
